Privacy Policy for Kalodia™
This Privacy Policy governs the privacy practices of the Kalodia™ mobile application (hereinafter referred to as the “App”), available for download via the Google Play Store. The App is designed to help classical music enthusiasts log, organize, and track their concert-going history and preferences. The governing jurisdiction for this policy is set out in our Terms & Conditions.
Core Privacy Principle: We heavily restrict the tracking and collection of your data. Kalodia™ does not require account creation or personal profile logins. Aside from the specific ephemeral cloud feature outlined in Section 3, all user-generated data remains local to your device.
1. Information Collection and Use
Except as detailed in the Concert Program Scanning section below, the App is built with a privacy-by-design architecture:
- No Account Registration: We do not ask for or collect standard identity details such as your name, email address, or phone number.
- Anonymous Use: There is no registration or account setup system; your primary usage of Kalodia™ remains unlinked to an identity.
2. Local Data Storage
All standard data generated or curated by you within the App is handled as follows:
- On-Device Storage: Information you manually input (such as composer names, concert dates, orchestras, venues, ratings, or custom journals) is stored strictly on your local device’s internal storage.
- No Cloud Mirroring: This core data is never sent to remote servers, databases, or cloud systems controlled by the App developer. Deleting the App will permanently clear this locally held data.
3. Ephemeral Cloud Feature: Concert Program Scanning
The App includes a feature allowing you to scan a physical classical concert program using your camera or local image files to extract details automatically.
To process this request, the feature operates as follows:
- Data Transmitted: When you actively use this feature, the App transmits the image of the concert program and an app-generated installation identifier to a secure, cloud-based processing service. This installation identifier is created randomly when the App is first installed and is not linked to your name, email address, or any other personal information.
- Sub-processor: Image analysis is performed by Anthropic, PBC via their API. Anthropic does not use API-submitted content to train their models and does not retain it beyond the duration of the request, in accordance with their own usage policies.
- Purpose: This transmission is strictly utilized for real-time AI-powered image recognition and data parsing to populate your local concert log.
- No Retention (Ephemeral Processing): The data is processed ephemerally. The processing service handles the request immediately and does not store or retain the image, extracted text, or installation identifier after the session concludes. No long-term profiling, tracking, or permanent records are generated from this interaction.
- Encryption: The transmission of the image and identifier is fully secured and encrypted in transit using standard cryptographic protocols (HTTPS).
4. Device Permissions
To support the feature set, Kalodia™ may require the following permissions:
- Camera / Media Access: To capture or select the image of a concert program for scanning.
- Local Storage: To save your concert logs locally to your device.
These permissions are invoked dynamically, and data accessed via these channels is never repurposed for marketing or third-party tracking.
5. Telemetry and Third-Party Infrastructure
The App itself does not bundle third-party commercial advertising networks or behavioral analytics SDKs. However, the Google Play Store infrastructure inherently captures routine, anonymous system telemetry and crash reports via the Google Play Console to ensure the App functions stably. This metadata collection is handled externally and is subject to Google’s own Privacy Policy.
6. Your Rights (EU / EEA Users)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of Access: You may request confirmation of whether we process personal data about you and, if so, a copy of that data.
- Right to Rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to applicable legal obligations.
- Right to Restriction: You may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
- Right to Data Portability: You may request a copy of your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object: You may object to the processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.
- Right to Lodge a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Given that Kalodia™’s architecture is designed to minimise data collection, most core App usage involves no personal data processing by us whatsoever. For requests relating to the ephemeral scanning feature, please contact us using the details in Section 9.
7. Children’s Privacy
Because Kalodia™ does not permanently collect or maintain personal info, the App does not knowingly request or store data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App is safe and transparent for all classical music lovers.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect feature additions or changing platform store rules. Any adjustments will be indicated by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this document.
